Wang Baolin is an electrical inspector of Shougang Mining and a specialist of the Shougang Group. He has led his team to complete more than 10 technological innovation projects, including the automatic cage control system of the No. 1 auxiliary shaft hoister of Shougang Macheng Iron Mine and the authority identification of the operating platform. These projects have enabled a hoister for a 1,000 m shaft to function like an elevator, playing a leading role in underground mining in China. Wang Baolin has won honorary titles such as National Technical Expert, Technical Expert of the Metallurgical and Mining Industry, and Shougang Model Worker. Hitherto, he has published two papers in national journals, acquired six national invention patents, and won four company-level awards for technological achievements, as well as one company-level award for technical measures.
Guan Jiandong is the Chief Engineer of Qianshun Technology Center of Beijing Shougang Co., Ltd. He has been committed to developing green, energy-saving, and high-performance steel products and improving their properties. By combining theory with practice, he has developed more than 10 new steel products such as high-strength automotive steel sheets with an ultrafine grained structure, automotive steel sheets with an intercoat-free coating process, and high-strength galvanized steel sheets. He has solved more than 20 major technical issues and weaknesses that lead to poor quality such as abnormal stamping lines, comet-shaped impurities pressed in, and white marks on the outer plate, and helped to make the Shougang Group a world-level player in automotive steel sheets. Hitherto, he has acquired 22 national invention patents, developed two technologies exclusive to Shougang, developed one product first launched in China, and completed more than 10 Lean Six Sigma projects. He has also won many honorable titles such as Outstanding Project by the China Association for Quality, First Prize in Corporate Management Innovation of Hebei Province, Quality Expert of Tangshan, and Model Worker of the Shougang Group.
Zhang Zhiwei is a researcher at the Beijing Beiye Functional Materials Corporation who is committed to developing high-performance superalloys and special stainless-steel products, overcoming technical difficulties, and improving quality. He has developed GH141 and GH5188, among other ultra-thin strips and wires of superalloys with extremely low deformability, which represents a breakthrough in China as their absence might create a chokehold, thus ensuring the normal operation of major equipment in the country. Hitherto, Zhang Zhiwei has won one second prize at the Beijing Science and Technology Progress Awards, two first prizes at the Shougang Science and Technology Awards, and an honorable mention at the 14th Beijing Science & Technology Best Paper Award for Young Metallurgical Workers.
