Recently, Shougang Cold-Rolled Sheet Co., Ltd. was selected as a role model company for intelligent manufacturing (seventh batch) for the construction progress of the intelligent factory based on the hyper-converged computing platform. It has become the first national role model company for intelligent manufacturing in Shunyi District.

In recent years, under the guidance of upper-level companies, Shougang Cold-Rolled Sheet Co., Ltd. has actively followed the policy requirements of the state government and Beijing, focusing on intelligent quality management, production process automation, digital equipment maintenance, intelligent warehousing and logistics, intelligent environmental conservation, and the handling of dangerous tasks with less manpower or unmanned operations, and commenced digital transformation to improve corporate performance.

The first task is to lay a technological foundation for digital applications. Shougang Cold-Rolled Sheet Co., Ltd. has established cloud-edge-end architecture based on production and sales platforms, and employed advanced technologies such as 5G, big data, AI, machine vision, and robotics for upstream and downstream interconnection and the support of digital applications. Among these technologies, 5G enables warehousing, transportation using RGV, and equipment control, facilitates fast and stable data transmission, and supports intelligent applications; AI supports the development of process control models such as the intelligent sheet shape control model, the model for zinc layer pre-setting and closed-loop control, the polishing machine model, the planisher model, and the alloying model to enable intelligent process control; and machine vision helps the production line to quickly perceive operational instability and enables the rapid detection of problems with the galvanized surface, thus improving the efficiency of the production line. The foundational digital platform with its advanced algorithms effectively supports intelligent applications and lays the groundwork for the digital transformation of the company.

The second task is to enhance the core competitiveness of the company. We focus on a broad array of aspects such as quality management, production planning, fine-tuned equipment and system management, improvement of warehousing and logistics efficiency, and precise control of energy and environmental conservation systems, upgrade the production lines with digital intelligence, continuously improve efficiency and effectiveness, and achieve the iterative optimization of intelligent manufacturing.

The third task is to improve the digital skills of all employees based on training. We have established a digital transformation office to facilitate digital applications. Moreover, we have carried out Fine BI and Python training, held sessions for use case sharing, developed a digital handover system, and held morning meetings using the digital performance management platform DPM. We have also selected outstanding product managers and use cases on a regular base, advocated for everyone to improve operating efficiency with data, and created a digitalized corporate environment to enhance employees' digital skills and awareness.
